Glass > Glass - Drinking Glasses

Enjoy scrolling through EAPG (Early American Pattern/Pressed Glass), along with other vintage glass, pottery, silver, pewter, old coins, collector books, cylinder records, etc. New unused, precious and semi-precious gem jewelry, STERLING, gold-filled or plate, and older costume jewelry will be added as it is sorted.

See below (About us) for the big picture! I am strictly a collector, not an expert, and I don't buy large lots of material.
Glass (EAPG) is my focus, but I also inherited a lot of "stuff" from my parents, much of it collected in the 1950's-1960's (semi-antique), and much of their material dating back to the Victorian era. My father loved lots of "old" things, often recounting fond memories associated with them. It's taking a long time, but I will slowly add interesting items, along with photos and as much history as I know about them.

Only large items such as furniture, rugs, phonographs, etc., are not practical for this venue. However, if you are local to northwest CT, and can pick-up an item, feel free to email and inquire.

Thanks,
Ger

494

Glass tray w 12 cordial glass assortment, EAPG thro 20th cent Fun collection of a dozen cordial glasses, ranging from pressed EAPG through the Depression, to the mid 20th century. Included are 3 with gold-trim; cut (Libbey Rocke Sharp); and what I believe to be 2 cordial-sized pressed pattern children’s stem glasses. Some are flint or leaded glass; some are optic. There are 12 different designs. All are MINT, and measure from 2 ¾ inches to 4 inches in height. BTW, EAPG glasses of this size were used as wines, although they are cordials by today’s standards. The glass tray is probably from 1930-40’s, an overall thumb print design with intact gold trim. Tray measures 12 ¾ x 8 x 1 1/8 inches, and is quite heavy.

Click for more detail...

588

3 Ashburton goblets, heavy EAPG MINT Great early EAPG pattern, made by a number of companies including Bakewell Pears, New England Glass, Boston & Sandwich, et al, ca 1850’s to 1870’s. This classic, well-known pattern Ashburton is also called Barrel Ashburton, along with several other names, including Flaring Top Ashburton which I believe these 3 are.
They stand 6 inches tall, with measurement across tops 3 5/8 inches on 2, and the third 1/16th inch wider. Glass is clear, bright, with occasional small bubbles and/or white spots within, all consistent with age of production. They have a slight flinty ring, and may be transition pieces, i.e., when flint was being changed over to soda glass. They do have great heft like flint, with each weighing around a pound. There is minimal base wear and only one has a tiny ding to the base, more to be felt than seen. One has a long fold or cooling line, but no cracks, chips, etc. Not marked; no pontil.

They are crystal clear; the green color is the reflection from plants outside the window. The photo with the 3 in line has end distortion by the camera; all are straight, although one wobbles just a tiny bit on a hard surface.
