All Glass

Enjoy scrolling through EAPG (Early American Pattern/Pressed Glass), other vintage glass, pottery, silver, pewter, old coins, collector books, cylinder records, etc. New unused, precious and semi-precious gem jewelry, STERLING, gold-filled or plate, and older costume jewelry will be added as it is sorted.

I am strictly a collector, not an expert, and I don't buy large lots of material.
Glass (EAPG) is my focus, but I also inherited a lot of "stuff" from my parents, much of it collected in the 1950's-1960's (semi-antique), and much of their material dating back to the Victorian era. It's taking a long time, but I will slowly add interesting items, along with photos and as much history as I know about them.

Only large items such as furniture, rugs, phonographs, etc., are not practical for this venue. However, if you are local to northwest CT, and can pick-up an item, feel free to email and inquire.

If paying by check, please issue to:

American Eagle stems: Bicentennial pair; mint* Two leaded cocktail glasses, with a full eagle as the stem. Made by Libbey in 1976, as "Liberty Bell # 3686," this classic Bicentennial design was most likely for champagne cocktails. MINT condition, no damage, nice crystal tone. Height 5 1/2". PAIR. #114

Hand blown 5 pieces in 3 shades of blue! I believe all of these are probably fairly contemporary, possibly semi-antique, with the oldest 60 years at the most…just my guess though, They are meant to copy the hand made glassware of the early 18th-19th century. All have folded edges, pontil marks, bubbles & impurities as seen on the early glass. The loveliest is a very pale blue bowl with a swirl pattern, out-folded upper edge, rough pontil; measures 6" wide x 2" high. "EA90" or "EA40" is scribed on the bottom. There are 3 darker azurine blue plates with out-folded rim, rough pontil; sizes vary from 8 1/8" to 8 ¼" diameter. Plates similar to these are seen in an ad for Mexican glass in the 1920’s. The 5th piece is an odd little bowl, deep blue, thick & crude. It has an in-folded rim, rough pontil, & measures 4 ¼" wide x 2 ¼" tall. All show some base wear except the delicate blue bowl. There is no damage.

Hand blown 2 pieces in pale green & teal green First piece is a pale almost apple green with a hint of amber, vase, measuring 5 ¼" tall. It is nicely made with an in-folded upper rim which is gauffered into 3 lobes. There is a rough pontil which appears to have been fire polished; lots of tiny bubbles, some base wear; no damage. The 2nd might be a small whiskey taster (?) in a clear pale teal green. It has a simple rim with one small flea bite, a rough pontil; measures 1 7/8" tall x 2 ¼" wide at the top. Age on both is undetermined.

Futuristic sculpture: 4 tall glass sherberts cocktails champagnes Fill these with orange sherbert, plop a big red strawberry on top, & plant a sprig of mint on the side for a truly elegant summer dessert! Four modern stemmed glasses, perhaps martini cocktail or saucer champagnes; each looks like a piece of Scandinavian sculpture! I haven’t been able to identify or date these, but I suspect they are fairly contemporary. They are tall at 6 ½". This does not appear to be leaded glass, although the top looks blown; the base pressed. Perfect except for one small nick on the rim of one (see close-up). 494

Glass tray w 12 cordial glass assortment, EAPG thro 20th cent Fun collection of a dozen cordial glasses, ranging from pressed EAPG through the Depression, to the mid 20th century. Included are 3 with gold-trim; cut (Libbey Rocke Sharp); and what I believe to be 2 cordial-sized pressed pattern children’s stem glasses. Some are flint or leaded glass; some are optic. There are 12 different designs. All are MINT, and measure from 2 ¾ inches to 4 inches in height. BTW, EAPG glasses of this size were used as wines, although they are cordials by today’s standards. The glass tray is probably from 1930-40’s, an overall thumb print design with intact gold trim. Tray measures 12 ¾ x 8 x 1 1/8 inches, and is quite heavy.

Depression: Colonial (radiating squares) pattern punch underplate Similar to a berry set shown in Klamkin’s Depression book (pg. 26), c 1926, this large 12 ½" clear plate is most likely an underplate for a punch set. There is a manufacturer ground base and the glass is of excellent quality & brilliance. I do not know the maker or exact year of production, although this was gotten from an estate collection that was boxed up for 60 years! I’m sure there are several makers, and this plate can serve for more than one style punch set. *Mint condition; no damage. Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 425: Fostoria: Coin Glass nappy and jelly 2 pcs Mint

Click for more detail...

425

Fostoria: Coin Glass nappy and jelly 2 pcs Mint Coin Glass has a wonderful history. Originally made by Central Glass & Hobbs Cos. under the US Glass consortium in 1892, the US government quickly halted production of this pattern because it was illegal to use facsimiles of real coins. The original coin glass had silver dollars, dimes and other real coins made to scale, including dates! US Glass was forced to discontinue production, but salvaged their molds by changing the coins to foreign coins and called the pattern Columbian Coin. The 2 pieces offered here are Fostoria’s 1958 version of Coin Glass, OMN no. 1372 Coin Glass Pattern. Both pieces show the reverse of a coin with an eagle & a date, alternating with a coin-like round containing a torch within a starburst. The stemmed jelly compote has frosted coins stamped 1886, measures 4 ½" diameter x 3 ¾" height. The 2nd piece, a handled nappy (a multi-purpose small bowl) measures 5 3/8" across the bowl x 1 ¾" at the handle, with clear coins stamped 1887. This nappy is particularly interesting because it contains a pot-stone, a type of inclusion, and is yellow under a UV light! Both pieces are heavy bright glass in mint condition, with no damage. (The central dark area in the photos is due to lighting & is not a defect). Made by several manufacturers, the top treatment is reminiscent of Hobbs, c 1880’s, although a positive attribution is difficult. Measures 8 ¾" long x 5 ½" wide x 2 ½" deep. 4 Skruf Kungsholm clear smoke w white foot ice tea goblets Super mint set of 4 iced tea or parfait (?) goblets by Swedish maker Skruf in the pattern shape of Kungsholm. Goblets are a faint gray clear leaded glass, with a white foot & short white 5-lobed stem. I believe this pattern was made as early as 1930’s, but this color combination suggests a later era, perhaps 1960-70’s? Measure 6 1/8" tall; 3 ½" across the top. No damage. Hand made pitcher: Multicolored, Israeli OR Rueven (?) A mid-sized frosted pitcher with a streaky design of muted teal over magenta splotches. Has an applied handle, & glass is very thin & delicate. I’ve been told that this is either from Israel (in current production), OR Rueven, which apparently is quite collectible. I bought this because of the striking color pattern. Sorry, but I have no other information on it. Height: 6 5/8". No damage.

Early: 8 Vaseline furniture casters This is a set of 8 vaseline, canary furniture casters. I remember when grandma had a clear set of 4 of these under each foot of her sofa. I don’t know the age or maker, and never saw vaseline coaster/casters when I was young. But these date at least to the late 1940’s & possibly earlier. Measuring 2 ½" across & ¾" thick, all show some age wear underneath, but not damage, cracks, chips, etc. Glow beautifully under UV light. Simple pattern in good condition.
