Gifts > Misc Vintage Gift collectibles

Enjoy scrolling through EAPG (Early American Pattern/Pressed Glass), other vintage glass, pottery, silver, pewter, old coins, collector books, cylinder records, etc. New unused, precious and semi-precious gem jewelry, STERLING, gold-filled or plate, and older costume jewelry will be added as it is sorted.

I am strictly a collector, not an expert, and I don't buy large lots of material.
Glass (EAPG) is my focus, but I also inherited a lot of "stuff" from my parents, much of it collected in the 1950's-1960's (semi-antique), and much of their material dating back to the Victorian era. It's taking a long time, but I will slowly add interesting items, along with photos and as much history as I know about them.

Only large items such as furniture, rugs, phonographs, etc., are not practical for this venue. However, if you are local to northwest CT, and can pick-up an item, feel free to email and inquire.

If paying by check, please issue to:

PO Box 457

Thanks,
Ger

12 Royal Albert Month Cups/Saucers series set, complete The first photo shows only one of the 12 different Royal Albert, made in England, Bone China, Flowers of the Month cups and saucers, a set/series said to be in the 1940's style. These are labeled under the base: hand-painted. The first photo shows no. 12, Holly, December's duo. I have room for only 8 photos, so only Holly is shown as an example of detail and quality. I can email photos of others if wanted.

The 2nd photo, a borrowed photo, shows the complete set of 12 raised-base cups and saucers each with a different flower for each month. One cup burst spontaneously, the no. 5, Hawthorn. If you know fine china, you know that this can occur in very fine china, and these are very fine bone china. I bought a replacement several years ago, and I believe that it is a slightly later style, since there is just the slightest bit of difference in the gold trim on the handle. The cup which I am holding in my hand is the later Hawthorn.

All cups except 2 are immaculate, the exception being no.1 Snowdrops which had a small nick in the rim, and no. 10 Cosmos which has 2 small nicks in the rim. These were never used, and only displayed. I have put them back in the original box, but could not manage to do it quite the same way as they were shipped.
The complete set of 12 was bought on 5th Ave. in New York City, and my mom proudly displayed it for at least 30 or more years.

Looking at that first photo of the Holly set, one can imagine how beautiful these cups and saucers are. The example photo of the base gives all pertinent information under glaze, including numbers, months, and identifies each flower. The replaced Hawthorn cup photo shows only the slight difference, 2 small squiggles of extra gold on the curves near the top of the handle. You really have to compare in order to see the difference.

The last 3 photos are of the cups as they sat, more or less, on the cupboard: 1st photo has No. 7 Water Lily, No. 4 Daisy, and No. 8 Poppy on the top row, with No. 10, Cosmos, and No. 5 Hawthorn on the lower row.
The 2nd photo has No. 2 Violets, No. 9 Morning Glory, No. 11 Chrysanthemum on the top row, with No. 6 Dog Rose and No. 12 Holly on the bottom row.
The third photo shows a repeat of Chrysanthemum (I moved them around a bit for photos), No. 3 Daffodils, and No. 1 Snowdrop.

They are all being stored in the original box, where the weight is over 8 lbs. I would have to repack the box within another box with padding for safety.
Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 10 lbs. from 06068. #564

PS: I just found the original stringed tags for each cup!

Hummel Joyous News candle accordion TMK3 Typical cute, well-done Hummel angel candle-holder. Angel is matte finish with sweet features, a green garment and what look like pink-tipped wings and shoes. She measures 2 1/8 inches tall; the candle is ¼ inch thick, red and original, slightly bent, but never burned. The angel plays a tan/pale yellow and black or dark brown accordion and appears to be singing.
The mark impressed under the glaze underneath is 1/39/0, with a very Small Stylized Bee in the V in a corner, with W. Germany written beneath, all in blue. TMK-3 was made only during 1960-72. Also known as Tuneful Angel, HUM 39, condition is good except for a bit of crazing under the shoes. This is another piece from Mom’s personal collection which she bought new.

Vintage pink plastic sewing caddy with pin cushion This was my mom’s from at least 1950 or earlier. It is really cute and very vintage in style. There is a lower outer ring section which hold 16 small spools of thread, most wound on wood; names like Bilding Corticelli, Coats & Clark are printed on the spools. Inside this ring is a bin for various sundries like buttons or small scissors. The top for the bin has a lid which holds a red cloth apple for pins. The apple has the cutest strawberry hanging off on a green cord. Overall measurement across is 8 ¼ inches; height of plastic alone is 5 inches, but the pin cushions adds about another 1 ¼ inches. There is a non-displaced crack of about an inch in the lid which you really have to search for, since the pattern on the plastic is busy with flowers and leaves. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 4 lbs. from 06068. #521
Circa: 1940-50's

6 Fostoria Argus stems MINT I bought these from a museum quite a few years ago. They were a special grouup put out by Fostoria, from 1963-1982. These are not copies, since this shape was never made in the original flint Argus pattern. I call them stemmed sherberts or wines. Each holds 8 ounces. Measure 5 ½ inches in height, made of bright sparkling crystal of what seems to be slightly less lead content than flint…although they do have a nice ring and are quite substantial in weight. No damage. MINT. Displayed but never used. Not marked. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 8 ½ lbs. from 06068. #551
