Christmas Pinecone Chenille Gnome Ornament Figure
This 1950s vintage Christmas pine cone gnome or dwarf has lots of character in his expressive molded composition face, right down to his big toothy grin. He's 3 inches high to the top of his teal paper mache hat and has a chenille beard and arms. He sits on a white mica snow-frosted pinecone with dried air-fern and berry greenery and has spun cotton feet. He holds a spun cotton lantern. The base is thick cardboard encrusted with gold glitter, the bottom is marked Japan. In very good vintage condition.

Hallmark Keepsake Pooh Slippery Day Motion Christmas Ornament
This 1996 Hallmark lighted motion Magic Keepsake ornament is Slippery Day, featuring Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore ice skating, snowshoeing, and butt-sliding on ice around two brush trees. The dome ornament is about 4-1/2 inches high by 3-3/4" diameter. It's in very good pre-owned condition, working with no damage. The original box, full foam padding, and instruction sheet are included. The box has minor storage wear to the corners and flaps but no tears.

Set 4 Bruce Metal Bells With Lyres Christmas Ornaments
A set of four unusual vintage cast metal Christmas bell ornaments with lyre or harp shape handles. They're painted red, green, blue, and silver and are 2-1/2 inches high. All have metal clappers and they make a pleasant ringing sound. Very nice condition with no damage and very little finish wear.
The inside rims are marked "Bruce Pat. App. For". I have my own set of these bells in the original mail order box from Bruce Industries of Plantsville Conn. The lack of zip codes on the label and the use of 1938 stamps suggests that they were made in the late 1930s to early 1940s. The company made die cast products in zinc and aluminum.

Victorian Gold Leaf Medallion Dresden Scrap Christmas Ornament
This lovely antique Victorian Dresden scrap paper and tinsel Christmas ornament is an embossed medallion shape with real gold leaf, measuring 4-5/8" wide by 3-7/8 inches high. At the center is a tiny scrap Santa Claus face in a wreath or nest of thin gold tinsel. There's a tiny pinhole at the left edge of the medallion, otherwise it's in excellent condition.

Clay Face Christmas Santa in Cardboard Sleigh, Celluloid Reindeer
These three old Christmas items are from my personal collection. I used to display them together in a putz scene as shown in the photos, though they were not originally sold as a set. The large chenille Santa has a molded clay face and is 5-1/2 inches long. This type of Santa ornament was made in Japan from the 1930s to 1950s and is in good condition.
The 1930s celluloid reindeer is about 3 inches high and is dusted with mica glitter. It's marked Japan and is in excellent condition with no damage.
The 3-1/2 inch long sleigh is is coated in white gesso and white mica and iridescent ground glass glitter. It's made of a thick heavy cardboard I think, or perhaps balsa wood. The back is filled with tiny cotton balls with bits of glitter flakes. Two little nails at the front foot rest are for reindeer reins. The underside is marked Germany. I believe the sleigh, which was probably a candy container, dates to 1920 or earlier - it too is in very good condition.

Large 1930 Edison Santa Claus Christmas Light Bulb Working
This standard size or Edison base 40 watt large Christmas figural light bulb was made in Japan in the 1920s to early 1930s. Made of clear painted glass, it's 8-1/2 inches tall and depicts a hooded Santa or Father Christmas figure in long coat holding a feather pine tree. Toys and dolls are embossed at the lower front of his coat. The paint has some flaking at the lower right front side. The back has considerable paint loss to the entire center back area. The bulb fits a standard light socket and works fine, lighting up brightly as shown in the second picture. The metal threads are marked "HK 120V 40W Tungsten Japan". Book price according to Johnson's Pictorial Guide to Christmas for a smaller 7-1/4 inch version is $125 to $175.

These 10-1/2 inch dinner plates are in the very popular Christmas Tree dinnerware pattern by Spode, produced since 1938, but no longer made in England. They're all marked England S3324 with various date codes which indicates production between the 1970s to 1990s. If they were ever used you can't tell as they all have their original gloss with no damage, wear, or utensil marks at all. Eleven plates are available, price is per plate.

Glass Santa Face Beaded Christmas Tree Garland
This fancy silvered glass Christmas tree bead garland has six mold blown silvered glass Santa face beads, separated by two sizes of round gold beads and alternating red ribbed and long tube beads. The Santa faces have white mica and iridescent glitter trim and are 2-1/4" long. The garland measures a little over 5 feet long. The last photo shows a broken ribbed bead and two holes at the back of one Santa bead. I've stabilized the breaks with clear nail polish to help prevent further damage, or you can simply clip those beads off using sharp scissors if you prefer.

Italy Sugar Bells Large Diorama Indent Scene Glass Christmas Ornament
This large 1950s Italian blown mercury glass indented diorama style scene Christmas ornament is a fat teardrop shape with white mica glitter snow frosting on the outside, scalloped than halfway down the back and sides. Inside the deeply recessed indented opening are a pair of white mica encrusted plastic sugar bells nestled in a spray of green bottle brush against a gold background.
The ornament is 4-1/2 inches long by just over 3" wide at the center. It's in excellent condition with no damage , though there is a little cloudiness and spotting mostly at the back due to deterioration of the inner silvering. There is light wear to the mica glitter. The metal cap is marked Made Italy.

3 Boxes Shiny Brite Blue Ombre Christmas Ornaments
Three boxes of Mid Century Shiny Brite silvered glass Christmas ornaments in shaded blue and green ombre. The 35 ornaments (one is missing from its box) are small size but not miniature - 2 inches diameter by about 2-1/2 inches high. There's also a box of five solid peacock blue ornaments, just a little bit smaller than the ombres. All 40 ornaments are in very good vintage condition with no chips or breaks with boxes intact.

Antique Large Cobalt Blue German Glass Kugel Christmas Ornament
This authentic cobalt blue kugel glass Christmas ornament was made in Germany in the late 1800s. It's quite large in size and heavy, over 4-3/4 inches diameter (closer to 5 inches high due to the slightly domed top) with a circumference of 15 inches. I've shown a normal size coffee mug in the last photo for scale.
Kugels are colored within the glass, not painted or finished on the outside, and the mercury silvering is on the inside. The ornament has magnificent deep cobalt coloring and excellent mirroring. There's a bull's eye circle of inner mercury degradation on one side, shown in the third photo. The glass kugel itself has no damage. There are a number of tiny bubbles in the mercury or glass, very common.
The veined five leaf type brass cap will slide a bit when pushed but is very secure. For being well over 100 years old, the kugel is in wonderful condition. The blue color is actually darker than most of the photos show.

Box 1950s Bradford Plastic Christmas Ornaments With Tree Top
A big 1950s boxed set of "Unbreakable" hard plastic Christmas ornaments by Bradford Novelty. There are twelve ornaments plus a gold and red spire tree topper with bells and spun glass angel hair.
The ornaments consist of two solid color bells, two smaller filigree cut-out bells, two silver disco ball rounds, a pair of ribbed barrel shapes, a pair of pink and green candle lanterns, and two red filigree double indents. The company's use of the word Unbreakable was a bit of misleading puffery, as the tree top's spire indent is broken. I've pushed it down into the four spikes. It holds securely and looks just fine - no one will notice. The other ornaments have no issues. The box has a little storage wear but is intact, though the cellophane window is loose.

1946 Make Your Own Christmas Cards Uncut Book Eve Rockwell
This Saalfield Publishing Company "Make Your Own Christmas Cards" book is dated 1946 and was probably intended for children. The charming holiday illustrations are by Eve Rockwell, a prolific greeting card artist known for her delightful illustrations of cherubic and pixie style children, Santas, elves, and animals. The uncut book contains 20 different cards (fronts and backs) printed on light weight cardstock paper. Many are designed to be stand-up or have mechanical inserts, lift-up panels, etc. There are no tears, stains or writing but as you'd expect in a 75-year old paper item, there is slight handling wear and faint toning to the page edges. 9-1/2 by 13-1/2 inches, 6 pages printed on both sides.

Bijou Toys Plush Fur Christmas Stocking With Rubber Santa Face
A wonderful 1950s child's plush Christmas stocking featuring a dimensional doll-type vinyl or rubber face Santa Claus with fake fur beard on the front. The stocking was made by Bijou Toys of New York. It's the large size, measuring 21 inches long from the white fake fur cuff to the bottom of the foot and is about 8 inches wide at the top.
The Santa face is in excellent condition, clean with no scratches, nicks, or paint loss. The red plush fur is in very good condition with no stains, holes, or tears though there are some slight wrinkles from storage. There's a woven cotton ribbon with jingle bell at one upper corner for hanging. The original fabric Bijou Toys hang tag has been removed from the inside cuff lining.

Assortment 5 Hallmark 1980s Vintage Christmas Ornaments
Five Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornaments, all displayed on an Idaho family's Christmas tree going back more than 30 years:
1984 Baby's First Christmas, a baby wearing a flocked green snowsuit riding in an old fashioned wicker stroller.
1984 Holiday Friendship, a double sided "Peek Thru" ornament depicting a boy and a girl waving at each other through a frosted glass window, each with a present for the other.
1985 Santa's Ski Trip, Santa and teddy bear ride in a Snowflake Mountain ski lift gondola.
1985 City Lights, a lighted Magic ornament featuring Santa and his squirrel friend atop a traffic light. Insert a bulb from a miniature light string to reveal a different animal scene in each of the four red and green light panels.
1989 Claus Construction, Santa wearing a hard hat takes a ride on a pulley operated construction beam.
None of the ornaments have boxes, but all were very carefully stored and are in excellent, clean condition with no damage or missing parts.

1950s Little Boy Football Player Angel Figurine
This darling 1950s little boy ceramic angel figurine wears a football helmet and carries a football under one arm. He's going for a touchdown, posed in a running position with his wings raised and his free hand away from his body to the back. Gold shoes peek out from his long white robe decorated with tiny gold flowers, and his wing feathers are tipped in gold as well.
The 4 inch high angel is spotlessly clean with no damage. The only signs of wear are two pinpoints of gold loss at the toe of the front shoe and the heel of the back shoe. His facial features are very well defined and expertly painted down to the lock of hair on his forehead peeking out from below the helmet. The figurine was part of a series of boy character angels made by Fine A Quality of Japan. The blue and silver foil label is on the bottom.

Lefton Madonna And Child Figural Planter
This lovely matte glazed porcelain figural planter by Lefton features the Virgin Mother with Baby Jesus in her arms. The planter is softly colored in pastel shades and is just over 6 inches high by about 5-1/2" diameter. There's a minor misapplication of gold paint to the rim of her halo on one side, barely noticeable. One tiny fleabite nick at the back of the planter under the rim, you can't even see it unless you look inside the opening. Marked underglaze Lefton 1765.

Christmas Leaping Reindeer Brooch Pin Blue Clear Rhinestones
A delightfully sparkly vintage leaping reindeer brooch, about 1-3/4" wide by 1-1/2 inches high. The goldtone deer has faceted deep royal blue marquise rhinestones and small round clear stones decorating the long flowing antlers. The deer itself has tiny clear pave rhinestones with a tiny blue rhinestone eye. The lovely brooch is in excellent condition with no damage, and no darkened, discolored, or missing stones. There's a mark at the back of the deer's hind leg that resembles a signature - if so I can't make it out.

This late 1950s to mid 1960s Josef Originals birthday girl musical figurine is for girls (or women) born in the month of June. When wound, she rotates to the Happy Birthday song tune in the music box at the base. She's about 5 inches high and wears a light shaded aqua green dress with embossed flowers and gold trim. She holds a pink rose, the June flower of the month, which has a pearl in the center, one of the June birthstones.
The figurine is in excellent condition with no damage or crazing and the music box plays well. The original gold foil hang tag is present. It has a little age discoloration on the inside where the verse is printed. Original foil labels are intact.

Antique German Tin Extension Christmas Tree Candle Holders
A set of 11 antique German extension candle holders for the Christmas tree, commonly used in the days before electric lighting. The 5 inch candle holders are tin. Three are plain, the rest are painted in lead glaze colors. There is wear to the painted finish as shown. The M shape ends are designed to weave around the tree branches rather than the usual clip type, and were ostensibly long enough to keep the candle flames extended away from the branches above. Eleven antique spiral candles that fit the holders are included.
I sold a 10-piece boxed set of these candle holders several years ago with the original illustrated instructions showing how they could be arranged around the bottom of a birthday cake, in addition to use on the Christmas tree. There was an 1890s patent date and both the box and paperwork stated they were made in Germany. The last photo shows the instruction sheet from that long-gone set - please note that you'll receive the items in the first picture only. This set does not have a box or instructions but it does include candles.

Embossed Rose German Glass Christmas Ornaments
A pair of 1930 or earlier silvered glass Christmas ornaments from Germany with embossed roses and leaves on two sides. The red and apricot colored ornaments are a little over 2 inches high and are pod or nut shaped ovals with textured bumpy side panels. The rose and leaf decoration is painted flat white on one side of each ornament. The finish is good on both ornaments considering their age and there is no damage.

Blow Mold Lifesavers Candy Plastic Christmas Garland 14 Feet
This retro blow mold style soft hollow plastic Christmas garland was made in 1960s Hong Kong. There are two separate strands totaling more than 14 feet. It's a colorful strand of Life Savers and pillow shape green and white spearmint candies, dusted with sugar frost glitter. Both strands are in excellent condition with no damage, holes, or stains. Some of the clear sugar glitter has come loose over the years but there's still plenty left. Sure to bring back or create happy holiday memories for kids of all ages.
