Vintage Couroc of California Golden Gate Bridge, Gold Wood Inlay Vintage Couroc of California Golden Gate Bridge Serving Tray. This is one of harder to find pieces of Couroc. Couroc of California pieces were the wedding and shower present of choice from 1950's to the 1980's. Couroc was located in Monterey, California and produced many different types and shapes of trays, boxes, ashtrays and glass barware. The company was founded by Guthrie Courvoisier, owner of Courvoisier Galleries in San Francisco in 1948, Courvoisier worked for Disney prior to founding his company.

While working for Disney he designed the first commercially available animation cels, these cels are still known as Courvoisier Cels. His wife, Moira Wallace was a designer and was involved in the designing and manufacturing of the Couroc designs, on rare occasions she personally signed her work. Couroc employed many skilled artisans during the early years, the artists carefully arranged bits and pieces of common metal items such as springs, screws, glitter, safety pins and paper clips, shells, corral, woods and coins into a special material called black satin black phenolic. This material is resistant to alcohol and boiling water, but is not dishwasher safe.

Couroc's founder died in the 1970's and the company was sold several times before ceasing production in 1990.
This tray features the Golden Gate Bridge along with a sailboat and sea gulls. The bridge is gold against wood tone shore, sailboat is white and gold, with two white sea gulls.

It is 18" long by 12 1/2", in beautiful condition, very little signs of use, a beautiful piece. Please see our other listings for additional trays.

Vintage Culver Glass Gold Angel Cherub Tumblers High Ball Set Vintage Culver Glass Gold Angel Cherub Tumblers or High Ball Glass Set, set of Five. Culver Glass originated in the 1950's and produced glass beverage pieces into the early 1970's. Some pieces are signed with Culver, Ltd, others are not signed and originally had a paper label. This pattern is one of the harder to find ones, the most commonly found patterns are the gold filigree and green patterns. This pattern features a heavy Gold pattern of Pineapples, Pears and Apples in 24K gold.

These glasses have two angels facing each other and pouring a liquid into a bowl, there is a pair of angels on each side of the glass, on the other two sides of the glass is a large gold urn. Each glass is 3 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches across the mouth, the gold is a heavy gold overlay, most likely 24K, this is over a green clear coloring, all five are in very good condition, green coloring has a some very slight signs of use, unsigned as they originally had a paper glass. A fabulous addition to your Culver collection. Please note that washing these glasses in the dishwasher is not recommended, the colors will fade and the gold trim will eventually disappear if they are washed this way. Hand washing will keep the colors intact and bright!

Couroc of California Blue Bird Oblong Appetizer Tray Couroc of California Blue Bird Oblong Appetizer Tray.

Courac employed many skilled artisans during the early years, the artists carefully arranged bits and pieces of common metal items such as springs, screws, glitter, safety pins and paper clips, shells, corral, woods and coins into a special material called black satin black phenolic. This material is resistant to alcohol and boiling water, but is not dishwasher safe. Couroc's founder died in the 1970's and the company was sold several times before ceasing production in 1990.

The pattern on this tray features a blue bird with a red breast seated on branch with red leaves, this pattern is not a commonly found one. This tray is seldom seen shape, oblong like a bread or appetizer tray, it is 12 1/2 inches long and 6 3/4 inches across, in excellent gently used condition. It has the original gold label on the back and would be an excellent addition to your collection or decor, please see our other listing for additional pieces of Couroc in this pattern as well as other patterns.

ts6314

Vintage Mid Century George Briard Gold Filigree High Ball Glasses Vintage Mid Century Modern George Briard Gold Filigree High Ball Glass Set of Six Glasses. George Briard was born as Jascha Brojdo in the Ukraine in 1917, he moved to Chicago in 1937. He was a noted, award winning designer in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He is most well known for his signature dishware and glassware, pieces produced ranged from cups and plates to gold plated serving dishes. His glassware collection was stocked at noted department stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and served in the U.S. Army throughout World War II as a Russian interpreter. In 1947, he was discharged from the Army and started working in New York with Max Wille, whom he had met in art school. Brojdo began painting metal serving trays for sale, and evidently a friend of whom was a fellow art student came up with the name Georges Briard to mark his commercial pieces. Brodjo was also a painter and would use his real name on his art pieces, but Georges Briard became his signature as a designer of these commercial articles.

This is a beautiful set! It has a gold filigree pattern, it is not signed with the Briard name but we have had this pattern in the past with the signature, each glass is 3 1/2 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches across the mouth. This set is in overall excellent condition, no chips, gold is intact but two of the glasses have a watermark line in the bottom from liquid that was left standing in the glass at some point in the past, not noticeable unless you are looking for it and cannot be seen when there is liquid in the glass. Perfect addition to your collection or barware!
