English Art Deco Biscuit Jar English biscuit jar (similar to American cookie jars) from the 1920s or 1930s. The jar part is pottery. The lid and fittings are electroplated nickel silver (hallmarked EPNS), although much of that is history on the lid (see photos). Bold, art deco flower transfer decorations. Approximately 9/12 inches tall (base to top of handle), and about a three inch wide opening. There is something incised on the base, which is quite difficult to read, possibly PADDYS.Crazing visible under strong light. Quite an attractive piece, even with the silver plate loss.
