Item 0059-053	Description Vintage German Beer Stein 1909 One of the "real" vintage German pottery steins, very scarce as they are delicate and few from this era have survived intact. This one is exceptional and classic - 1/2 liter, pewter swing top lid (#71). The characters and design are in relief against a colorful background. The knight is sitting, holding his sword, the maiden is standing, pouring a drink from a jug, knight speaks "Beer or wine, I keep quiet." (best available translation, if you have a better one let us know). Inside of lid is marked 1906 and has owners name; 8-3/8 inches tall x 3-3/4 inches in diameter, weighs 1-1/2 lbs.
