Tintype – Early firemen or street car conductors?

1/6 plate. Nice image, but just not sure what these two guys are in uniform for. The shirt design reminds me of firemen, but not sure. Could be street car conductors. Nice little details in the fobs and piping. Condition is overall good with modest wear and few modest scratches.
