Description
Original Erie Railroad Lantern ca 1923
This kerosene lantern is signed on the bell: "Adlake No. 250, Kero, and The Adams and Westlake Co., New York, Chicago and Phila. Erie RR." The cast globe has raised markings "Adlake Kero" and "CNX" and "Erie Railroad" is acid etched in the glass. The lantern is 9 inches tall to top of the bell, and has a fixed base with removable oil pot, a wire ring bottom, and a single wire guard. This lantern has an outside wick adjuster and bail lock hook. This is a clean lantern with very few tiny areas of rust. Its first patent was in 1908 and its last patent in 1923. The globe is 3-1/4 inches high and the wick is 5 /8 inch wide. The lantern weighs approximately 2 lbs when empty. This lantern is all original and in working condition.
