A great vintage (4+) page original illustrative magazine article entitled: COWBOYS OF THE DEEP by Emile C Schnurmacher. "Cowboy" of the deep, the modern tugboat, deliberately looks for trouble. Such is the code of the tugboat men that, besides "riding herd" on $1,500,000,000 worth of shipping, salvaging $15,000,000 worth every year, speeding the arrival and departure of liners, they still find time to hunt trouble. Thousands of improvements have been made upon the steamship since the invention of the "Clermont," but science has not devised anything that will prevent a graceful greyhound at sea from changing into a lumbering elephant in the harbor. Marine engineers have gone a long way toward solving the problem. Many images including: Leviathon, Historic Constitution, Submarine "S-4", (lots of tug images & more)... Each page measures approximately: 6 1/2" x 9 1/4" Condition: EXCELLENT. Certificate of Authenticity is provided to show that this piece is from an original magazine (not a copy).
