These are 2 examples of whale oil/fluid period lamps, c. 1855, made by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. They are both flint, with crimped handles and no burners. The large lamp measures 3 ¾" h x 3 5/8" base diameter. On the large lamp there is a ½" outside crack radiating directly downward from the folded upper handle. There also appears to be a crack above the crimping . The small lamp measures 3 ¼" h x 3" base diameter. This smaller lamp has a 1" long interior crack radiating diagonally from the upper handle.
