Vintage Beswick Staffordshire King Charles Spaniel Mantel Dog Figurines, Pair. Beswick Pottery was founded in 1892 and was sold to Royal Doulton in 1969. By the end of 2002, Royal Doulton ceased production of all Beswick products. The dog figurines or mantel figurines were produced mid century, around 1950's to 1960's. This set is styled after the Staffordshire King Charles Spaniel, each is beautifully detailed, white body with gold accents, gray and black paws, with matching nose colors and bright yellow eyes. A very nice replica of the famous Staffordshire Dog figurines. They are the large 8 inches tall size, 5 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide, both are marked Beswick, England, 1378-5. Beswick Spaniel dog figurine. White with gold accents and hand painted details.Impressed Mark on the bottom reads Beswick England 1378-5. Both are in excellent condition, no chips except that one has a flat chip on the base, quite hard to notice and not visible unless it is turned over and examined closely. A beautiful and hard to find set for your collection! |
