This genuine antique poster will frame up beautifully. The POIS and HARICOTS posters would make a knock-out pair.

Trophy of Bronze from Columbia, America s Cup Defender.

Superb large loving cup trophy made from the bronze of the 1899 America s Cup defender, Columbia. The original small plaque that certifies this is still firmly affixed to the bottom of the trophy. Columbia was victorious over the Irish challenger, Shamrock I, owned by Sir Thomas Lipton. Size: 11 quot; high x 10 quot; wide. It is a golf trophy from the Wauwatosa Golf Club in Boston, Mass. Finely engraved inscription reads: quot;Championship President s Cup, Wauwatosa Golf Club, Boston, Mass. To become the property of any member of the club winning three annual championships. quot; Above the inscription is a crest of crossed clubs, a golf ball and pin. On the back are the beautifully engraved names of the winners for 1901, 1902 and 1903. Waldo T. McLaughlin 1901, Clifford L. Donald 1902, and Joseph F. Eldridge 1903. On the bottom, in addition to the plaque or seal that identifies the trophy as being the bronze from the Columbia, there are several other marks. Grouped together are what appears to be a fancy letter B, a flower, and an English Pound sign. There is a C stamped below them. Also stamped on the bottom are the words quot;Silver Soldered. quot; Condition is excellent. The engraving has been well polished through the years, but is deep and easy to read. The cup has been extremely well cared for and there are just a few tiny wear marks that are practically invisible. The cup has been professionally polished and lacquered, so it doesn t need polishing again. A wonderful piece, especially for collectors of golf items or sailing items.
Submarine J6 - Silver Shield from Launch - 1915.

Unique relic of Royal Navy history from World War I. This is a beautiful little silver shield measuring 2 quot; high x 2 quot; wide. The fine engraving reads: quot;SHIELD ON WHICH THE CORD WAS CUT FOR LAUNCHING THE SUBMARINE J6 BY H.M. KING GEORGE V, 9TH SEPT. 1915. quot; J6 was an advanced diesel-electric design. It had three screws and could reach a speed of 19.5 knots 36 km h on the surface, almost as fast as a battleship. The J6 met a tragic end in 1918 when it was mistaken for a German U-boat and sunk by a British warship with a loss of 14 men. Condition is excellent with fine, deep engraving. The shield was attached to a backing with three tiny nails. The heads of two are still there. It was framed in a tasteful modern frame, but we can ship it with or without the frame. Don t miss this one-of-a-kind piece.

German WWI - Shell Carrier - Wicker Wood

Be sure to see all the photos. This amazing piece was used by WWI German soldiers to lug 3 artillery shells to the front. It is made of wood and wicker. Not sure if wicker is the right term, but it is heavy and interwoven like wicker. It has its original canvas handle and straps as well as the canvas and leather straps that secured the metal top. Even the brass catches that held the straps in place are there. I saw one almost identical to this at the Verdun Museum in France. Condition is remarkable. Looks like it has been carefully stored since 1918. It is tight and sturdy. The metal top is worn, but has part of its original paper label which is in German. The leather strap that held the metal top on one side is separated. There are a few small stains on the wood, but nothing major at all. Size: 20 quot; high x 14 quot; wide x 5 quot; deep. Whether you are collector or a re-enactor, this has to be a truly unique piece

7 Antique Cauldon Bird Plates - C.1900 Gold Rim.

A beautiful group of 7 plates produced by Cauldon in England. The artwork of the birds is excellent, and the color is bright and fresh. These are marked on the back quot;Cauldon quot; and quot;England quot;. According to Kovel s the Cauldon name was used this way from 1890 to 1905. There is what appears to be a pattern number on the back of each plate: the letter V over the number 4589. There are also a number of small, impressed stamps on the bottom of the plates. Most are hard to read since there is no color. One shows an A and C flanking some kind of tiny graphic, maybe a crown. Another stamped mark that appears on all the plates is the word CAULDON, usually very faint. Several of the plates also have a three letter mark in reverse. Examples are B6C and E6C. Each plate design has a design number on the back. This group of seven consists of No. 2 1 , No. 3 1 , No. 6 1 , No. 7 2 and No. 11 2 . So there are two plates each for No. 7 and No. 11. Condition is very good. Very fresh color, just modest crazing and modest stains on a few of the plates. Three of the plates have miniscule chips on the back of the rim. These do not show and can barely be felt. The plates look absolutely beautiful on the wall or on stands. ORIG PRICE 280 SALE 195
