VICTORIAN MINIATURE DESK CABINET WATCH STAND

Antique Victorian miniature wood furniture in the form of a desk or cabinet that actually serves as a watch stand. Made 19th century. Comes from the estate of the late Beverly Sills, famous opera singer and society beneficiary. Measures 8 inches accross and 6 inches to the top of the arch. Miniature wooden chest or desk. Beautifully constructed with rounded and stepped edges and inlaid wood with wonderful veneer patterning. A hook for hanging a fob watch above an inset circle. The left side is a cupboard, the right a pair of drawers. Wood inlay designed so that they look identical from the outside. However, the left side swings open on hinges and closes with a little latch. If you look very carefully on the inside where your knee would go were you to sit at the piece , there is a tiny hole. The right side drawers are constructed in typical Victorian style, with dovetailed joints. Great veneer to the wood. Good condition. The watch shown in one of the 'photos was found inside the drawer of another item from the Beverly Sills estate. It is not included with this item, but it is available for sale.

ANTIQUE SET SILVER GORHAM VERSAILLES LUNCH SA

A set of 6 antique sterling silver forks by Gorham, made last quarter of the 19th century. Each fork is approx 6 7 8 inches long and weighs about 51 grams. Total weight approx. 10.11 troy oz. Luncheon or salad or fish forks. The Versailles pattern, long discontinued, was argueably the most elaborate and rich pattern of silverware made by Gorham. The forks are entirely made of sterling silver. The handles with opulent rococo design, featuring a mythological youth, holding a large cornucopia. The similarly decorated backs have a reserve instead of the young man. Monogram, P, beautifully engraved, adds to the rich history of these knives. In addition, the backs have a wonderful repousse mask amidst the rococo decoration. Hallmarks: Back of fork has the Gorham mark and STERLING under an 'H' in a circle. Condition is very good.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 14K GOLD TURQUOISE BRACELET

Antique, Victorian 14carat gold and cabochon turquoise bracelet. Made 1850-1880. Measures approx. Over 7-1 4 inches long x approx 3 4 inches wide. Weighs a whopping 73 grams. Constructed with fine gold mesh links with flower-moulded tops, that allows for total flexibility. THe links are bordered on either side by rectangular links shaped like roof-tiles. The top is in the form of a buckle, set with lovely cabochon turquoise gems. The edge has an attached inverted bell shaped charm, bordered with the same turquoise cabochons and with a rich fringe of gold tassles, ending in golden beads. Workmanship is very fine. The overall effect is lavish beauty. The bracelet closes with a wide-tongued clasp in addition to a security chain. TOngue and some loops of chains are hallmarked. Hallmarks are not entirely legible. Bracelet tests at least 14k. Condition: close inspection and magnified 'photos show slight darkness, indicative of previous restoration towards the tip of the 'buckle'. This will not detract from your enjoyment of an otherwise fabulous bracelet.
