VINTAGE FOLK ART - CARVED MALE HEAD. Size: 4 Inches X 1-1/2 Inch X 2 Inches Condition: Good To Very Good. Great Patina. Some minor scratch marks on wood as is to be expected on an older piece. Age: My best guess would be mid 20th Century or earlier. There are two metal U hooks on the back & there are 4 tiny holes on the back of the head, which appear to me to be the first try for the U hooks and the artist decided they would be better on the back of the pedestal. Black ink was used for the facial features and possibly the hair. The pedestal of the piece could have been meant to be used for a stopper. The piece is not signed. Origin: Western US. Weight: 3 Oz's. |
