Rare Logging Camp Water Tin Metal Tankard. This unusual and rare tin metal tankard was probably used in a cookhouse in a logging camp. It measures 5-3/4" tall with a 3” opening on top. Tankard has a large handle with an opening 2” wide to provide a sturdy grasp. The tankard is very light, and could also have been hooked on to a water bucket for the men to get to it.
In good condition considering its age and obvious use. It has some rust, but is strong and sturdy, and has a secure handle that looks as though someone must have soldered at some time in years past. It also has a pin size hole on the bottom. If you turn the tankard to the light you can see it coming through. This does not deter this piece from its originality and antiquity |
