YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE is a 33 rpm LP album (#LN3294 on the Epic Label) featuring Roy Hamilton, an extremely influential vocalist despite having a rather short career.
Hamilton had both classical training and gospel experience before starting his music career as a member of The Searchlight Singers. During the 1950s, Hamilton's dramatic, searing voice and treatments of such songs as ‘You'll Never Walk Alone,’ ‘If I Loved You,’ ‘Ebb Tide,’ and ‘Unchained Melody’ (his only Top Ten pop hit) were enormously popular.
Hamilton retired from 1956 to 1958 due to exhaustion; suffered a stroke and died in 1969 at age 40.
Tracks include: My Secret Emotion, You'll Never Walk Alone, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry (Over You, If I Loved You, So Let There Be Love, Ebb Tide, Beware, I Believe, The House I Lived In, Unchained Melody, Forgive This Fool, You Wanted to Change Me, and Hurt.
The record shows some scratches and fingerprints, but will probably look like new with a good cleaning. The album cover is Very Good+ with a previous owner’s name handwritten at the top of the front. (5239)
