Circa: mid 1900's Condition: Good+ Manufacturer: Buck Brothers
This is a very nice, .75" tanged gouge chisel with the bent shank or bent neck feature. It is marked "BUCK" on the handle, but the normal steel mark is very light on the steel, but enough of the logo can be seen to be sure it is a Buck Brothers chisel. This is a quality cast steel chisel from the early 1900's era. The steel section of this chisel alone is 7.3" long x 3/4" width, 12.3" long overall. This is a quality made chisel by well known quality tool maker in Millbury Mass. U.S.A.. There is no pitting on it, clean, sharp and ready to use. It is an in-channel sharpened chisel, with the standard sweep. The hardwood handle fits well and is solid, little wear, a chipped off area of wood is noted, still plenty strong, a good brass ferrule. A nice clean chisel! |
