This Precious Moments Smile Along The Way, boy clown doing a handstand, Christmas Tree Ornament, is marked on the bottom: #113964 with the flower mark, that represents God's Love for His children, dated 1988, Samual J Butcher and Licensee Enesco Corporation. Precious Moments, the trademark pastel-hued figurines with teardrop-shaped eyes, were created by Samuel Butcher of Missouri in 1978, with 21 figurines (Original 21). Sam Butcher was a preacher, and he based his creations on Christian values, naming each figurine based on either sayings from children, or deriving from their innocence. Beautifully done, the golden haired boy is dressed in a light green suit with striped hat and signed Sam B on his left arm. In very good condition with no chips or cracks but it has been displayed through the years he measures 2 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide.
