From an estate in Atlanta GA comes this fine diamond and platinum ladies' wrist watch dating to the 1920s or 40s. It has been appraised by a GIA certified appraisor and a copy of this appraisal IS included with its purchase. This will be useful for the lucky buyer in insuring it for its replacement value.
The appraisal states the following:
One "100 iridium 900 Platinum" stamped diamond watch featuring a total of twenty eight (28) single cut diamonds weighing approximately .75ct total of overall VS-1/VS-2 clarity with H color. These diamonds are bead set into the case. Also featured is a manual wind 17 jeweled (jewel jewels) movement by Hamilton No. 995A, silver dial with black Atabic markers, acrylic crystal, "Morflex" stainless steel bracelet and removeable back case. (8.9 dwt)
value $2850.00
The dial could use repainting though it is quite acceptable as it is. The watch dial itself is about 7/8" long by 1/2" wide. It appears to be working fine though all manual watches eventually need basic cleaning and maintainance.
A lovely piece at an opening bid of less than 25% of its replacement value. Don't miss this awesome chance to own a lovely art deco estate piece at a great price. Also check out my other auctions for more great items from this estate including a lava cameo, an art deco cabachon emerald ring and matching earring set, a diamond ring guard, a marcasite and chrysophrase lorgnette, and other fine pieces. |
