This cast iron baby crib, on nickel-plated wheels was made from 1920’s-1930’s by the Kilgore Manufacturing Co., of Westerville Ohio. Size: 2 ½ inches length, 1 inch width and 1-3/4 inches height, and is in nice condition. Shown in the 1931 Kilgore Toy Catalog as No. T-4 Bassinet, and the color was originally called enameled baby blue, which looks to have been applied over gray. Don't know if it was done this way by manufacturing or if it was added later. If later it is old paint, not done recently. You can see that in the last picture - a hint of gray and some blue on the wheels. |
