Circa: early 1900's Condition: Good+ Manufacturer: not marked
This is a very nice group of two different size antique scratch awls, both in very good condition. These are antiques from the 19th century era, one is 4" long, the other 3.5" long (note including the steel awl points, just the handle area), both area solid, the larger has a hearline crack in the brass ferrule, but it is holding. The smaller has the straight needle point, the larger a curved needle type point. The smaller is in better shape than the larger, in fact the smaller is in very good condition, no damage, no cracks, very nice patina, nice fruitwood handle. The larger is also fruitwood, a similar finish on the area that isn't stained, and the larger seems to have a metal tip passing all the way through the center of it, as the end can be seen in the center of the end of the peg handle. The tip is not loose on either, but firmly fitted, both good useable antique awls! |
