Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in price guides and reference books for the antiques and collectibles industry. Price guide with values updated in 2003 included This well designed sequel to James Measell and Berry Wiggins' first book on American glass of the 1920s and 1930s continues coverage of the factories and products created during this pivotal time in glassmaking history. Organized alphabetically by factory, the authors educate us on the glass of major companies like Imperial and Northwood, as well as smaller companies, such as Stout & Crawford, and Gill Brothers. Readers will be happy with the absence of overlap between the first and second volumes-all material is original. Collectors will be thrilled with this picture-heavy book. 100 color plates feature 1200 beautifully photographed items, with caption information conveniently included below the pieces. Nearly every black and white page is filled with trade journal advertisements, catalog reprints, and detailed sketches from patent records. A well-documented special color section on the products made by the U.S. Glass conglomerate, and another section on the many manufacturer's of the common Georgian pattern also help to solve mysteries of glass parentage. Collectors and historians of 1920s and 1930s glass will love this sequel!
