Circa: 1940's Manufacturer: Alden's
"She wore blue velvet" and this is probably the dress she wore. This gorgeous blue velveteen has a form-fitting dropped waist and a full rayon taffeta skirt. This one was made to party. The dress measures 33 inch bust, 28 inch waist and 32 inch hips. The back to hem measures 43 1/2 inches and the front neckline measures 15 1/2 inches to the hips. There is a side metal zipper that is 9 1/2 inches long. Narrow white cording with navy blue thread make up the design on the neckline. Set into the design are pearls and rhinestones. The design is 2 1/2 inches wide. The waist is accented by a velveteen self belt and rhinestone buckle. The buckle is not original to the dress. It was the best fit I have been able to find. The belt measures 28 inches long and is a little less than 1 inch wide. You'll feel like a princess in this dress--very feminine and pretty. |
