This figurine is of excellent quality porcelain. Unglazed hands and face, neck. The rest is a high gloss finish. He nods his head and also his body. back to front motion.Stands 8 in. tall and the base measures 2.5 x 2.75 in. Felt has been applied to the bottom. I find no markings. Best guess is he is from the 1930's era. Acquired from an estate and has been in storage for many years. The high gloss finish reminds me of Doulton figurines. Any information anyone may have will be gratefully received.There was an old sticker attached, perhaps from an antique shop, so I am going by the price on that. I find no chips, nicks, etc. |
