This wonderful antique figural glass Christmas ornaments isn't in any of my books, but there's no doubt it's old and unusual. It's a small child or baby standing on top of a baby feeding bottle nipple, exquisitely detailed. The ornament is 3 inches high, hand painted in a flat finish and unsilvered.
In researching the ornament, it occurred to me that it may be a German figural miniature perfume bottle, but in lifting the metal cap I picked up no whiff of scent or fragrance. The tin cap has no markings but the ornament certainly appears to be of German or possibly Czech origin. There are a few scratches to the paint but nothing very noticeable.
