well designed carving of tall thin man with hands in pockets, wearing large bow tie with comic expressive face.
Made of several pieces of carved pine wood with brown patination from age, circa 1935.
good condition, chip off nose tip has achieved same patina as rest of carving so must have occurred near time of creation., otherwise minor wear from use.
No maker marking.
Some have likened this to Giocometti work but this is earlier. |
