This Enesco Precious Moments figurine, Thank You Sew Much, is marked on the bottom: Precious Moments by Enesco / Thank You Sew Much / 1999 Precious Moments Inc. / Licensee Enesco Corporation / #587923 / Thailand and EY / HY. With the star mark it is signed Sam B on the base of the figurine.
Precious Moments, the trademark pastel-hued figurines with teardrop-shaped eyes, were created by Samuel Butcher of Missouri in 1978, with 21 figurines (Original 21). Sam Butcher was a preacher, and he based his creations on Christian values, naming each figurine based on either sayings from children, or deriving from their innocence. In 1974, a friend invited him to join forces and start the Jonathan & David inspirational greeting card business, utilizing the teardrop-eyed children Sam had been drawing for family and friends over the years. Sam called them Precious Moments because they carried messages of loving, caring and sharing to those he loved. This company was the first step toward the phenomenal success of Sam and his Precious Moments illustrations. In 1979, Enesco Corporation transformed the artwork into porcelain bisque figurines.
Beautifully detailed in pastel colors, the little girl is holding a Thank You sign.
In very good + condition, without chips, cracks or fleabites she measures 5 inches tall, 2 1/4 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches deep.
