This basket was produced by the Van Briggle Pottery Co. Measures 4.5 in. diameter. Stands 5 in. tall. I find no chips, or cracks. In a chartreuse color,High gloss. Braided handle with small cut outs below the handle on either side. it is bottom marked with the incised conjoined A's logo. The A's stand for Artus and Anna. founders of the company. Also Colo. Spgs. Original Hand Carved. So I believe this would have been hand thrown and not from a mold. I believe this item is from the early 1950's. Perhaps earlier. |
