Manufacturer: University of North Dakota School of Mines
This is a wonderful large brown vase made by the University School of Mines. It is a hand thrown vase about 10 inches high; 6 inches across; almost 4 inches across at the top opening and 4 1/2 inches across the bottom. This vase has a beautiful varigated spray brown glaze. This effect was achieved by spraying the glaze on the vase while it was rotated on the potters wheel. The bottom of the vase has the blue University of North Dakota mark under the glaze. It says University of North Dakota, Grand Forks,ND, Madde at the School of Mines, ND Clay. This mark was used between 1924 and 1963 while Julia Mattson was an instructor there. The bottom also has the incised name of Edo Remer. It is in excelllent condition. |
