Circa: Mid-1900's Condition: Good++ Manufacturer: THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. USA
Offering this clean older 0-1" Starrett micrometer in good working condition, includes a rare leatherette covered, metal case, 1" standard, and calibration wrench. This one is marked "STARRETT NO. 436 1 IN" on the frame, and also marked "THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A." on the thimble area by the fraction equivalents area. Retains about 70% of it's paint, no rust, some minor scratches noted. It has .001" increments, and inspected, found to be accurate, and is ready to use. It features a good working friction brake and ratchet stop feature on the thimble end, carbide tips to reduce possible wear. A very good useable micrometer, at a fraction of the cost of a new one! Works very smoothly! The included rare case is like an eye glasses type case all metal with leatherette covering outside, velvet inside, in good++ condition with some minor velvet wear inside, and one slight rip in the leatherette on the bottom of the case near the edge where the lid pointed part (where you put your finger to open it) is located, otherwise in very good condition. The spring hinge works fine. The ball attachement is included, very good shape, but not for this micrometer, too small to fit it. The standard and wrench are correct items for this micrometer, and are in very good shape.
