Circa: early 1900's-40's Condition: Good+ Manufacturer: Dungan?
This is a nice carving chisel that was part of a large collection of mostly English chisels like S.J. ADDIS, HERRING etc.. This one is mild, or nearly flat sweep gouge chisel. It is marked by the maker, but the stamp is only partial lettering, so it is hard to know for sure, but as best I can see marked "DUNGAN" on the steel, (in very small lettering). We note the quality of the steel is very good, and the condition of the chisel is also very good, ready to use out-channel sharpened. It measures a 9/64" wide at the widest point of the cutting edge, and is 8.25" long overall. The handle is nice looking and in very solid condition. A nicely designed, quality made, carving chisel!
