I love the drama of this vintage faux aquamarine jewel and velvet choker: tie it high or low, with bow ends in back or to the side, or use it as a headband or chignon wrap!
The luxe accessory is made of large hard plastic, facetted aquamarine jewels (glass would have been too heavy) which are set, open-back, in individual prongs and invisibly sewn to the black velvet tube. The choker portion is wired too, so it hugs your neck without pinching and has a straight line on the neck.
The choker portion is a little over 12" in length and the total length is about 52". The width is about ¾". The jewels have such sparkle, you’d swear they were lead crystal—these 1930’s-40's simulants are so beguiling! (Wartime shortages of European crystals lead to some very creative and impressive American gem substitutes.)
This unique choker is in excellent condition and I know you’ll find a number of ways to employ its flattering form!
