Publisher: Theo Audels & Co.
This is a nice set of Audels with a complete set of 4 volumes printed and copyright in 1923, 1939, 1951, - printed 1951. This set has a hard cover, rather than a semi-soft cover like the older ones. One of my favorite reference book sets for information on building and carpentry techniques from the 1920's. The 1st volume is very good for information on tools of that days and how to care for them. Each book is 5" x 6.7" has a black leather like pressed cloth hard boards, gold gilt spine lettering and page edges. Volume 1 has a very tiny rip in the black covering material at the top edge of the back cover otherwise the covers show light wear, slightly bumped in outside corners, and lay flat. All volumes are in good+ to good++ condition, covers are clean, spines are tight and straight (exception - vol 4 has a minor crease in the spine near the top of the hammer). Page edges are tipped in red. Pages are clean, no tears, a each volume has a past owners name on the inside blank front page. End papers are clean. Good tight bindings. <br>
A nice set of books covering tools, steel square, cutting tools, saw sharpening, nails, screws, joinery, furniture, math, drawings, estimating, house and roof framing, layout, foundations, doors, windows, stair building, mill work, painting, etc. Lots of good information, and plenty of illustrations.
