13.5" x 27" x 2" 19th century cast iron panel with a strange mixed design in relief. The flora & fauna are clearly Chinese, but the cabin looks colonial American. Possibly a Chinese mountain dwelling. This was possibly a fire place cover, oven door, maybe a coal chute. It does have mounting brackets on the back. There is a Chinese glyph in the dormer window, maybe a signature, & a number 3 and 0 in the casting rear. A strange piece no doubt. |
