These hand painted Polish blown glass ornaments are wonderful. They have a carousel or circus theme, with figures riding a carousel horse and an elephant. Flower petals painted around the top form a tent roof effect above the mica carousel poles. The rider image repeats three times around each ornament, each one a bit different of course due to their hand made nature.
The ornaments are about 2-1/2" diameter by nearly 3 inches high to the tops of the metal caps. They are old, probably dating to the late 1930s. There is wear to the painted decoration and the mica glitter as shown. The inner mercury silvering has degraded somewhat with age, causing a slight semi-transparent, pearly effect when held up to the light. All that makes them sound badly worn but they really aren't - the ornaments still display nicely and the carousel decoration is scarce.
