These very rare unsilvered 3 inch glass Christmas war ornaments look like space capsules to me, though they were probably intended to be beaded and paneled lanterns or bell shapes. They were made during the early years of World War II when silvering agents were not available due to military restrictions.
One is deep teal blue, the other bright magenta pink. Both are decorated with hand painted white dots which were coated in mica glitter. The teal ornament has some discoloration at the rounded bottom on one side and the pink is missing the dots paint on one panel. Both have good coloring and no damage and are wonderful, rare examples of early American war ornaments.
