Circa: Early 19th Century
Beautiful Empire tall-case grandfather clock. Mahogany half-column case with two wood columns with gold gesso capitals. Gold gesso eagle at top. Porcelain dial surrounded with engine turned brass of high relief floral, cornucopia, and urn motif. Eight day, three train, quarter hour strike with crown verge escapement. Strikes on hour and two minutes after hour and each quarter hour. European, most likely English, possible French. Early 19th century. 89" height by 22" width by 12" depth. Overall very good condition with some age split to wood on door and lower panel. This clock runs well but is sensitive must be leveled. Shipping via Home Direct may take 3-4 weeks.
