Condition: very good
RARE ! Brown Polychrome Transfer-ware Musical Teapot Chinoiserie Pattern. It features a landscape scene with wispy trees, a lake with small fishing boats, a couple sitting on the shore and a cottage. It measures 6.25" tall x 9" from spout to handle. The musical movement is on the bottom. You wind it up and every time you lift the pot to serve tea it plays " Tea for Two". The condition is very good. There is a very small fleabite on the inside rim but the lid hides it. The musical movement seems to be slower that it would have been when new. The only markings found is what musical tune it plays. I don't know who made it. |
