Doesn't this funky Eames era plastic tree top ornament look like something that belongs on the Jetsons Christmas tree? Maybe not, it's probably too gaudy for the Jetsons. It's called the Carillon Tree Spire, made in the USA by Bradford. The box has a patent number that dates to 1959..
The topper is made of red metallic hard plastic and has three gold and red bells dangling from the sides and open center cutout globe. The large reticulated ball near the bottom is filled with a swirl of white angel hair. The topper stands 13-1/4" high.
The back side of the swirled lower ball has a crack to the center post, shown in the closeup photo. It doesn't affect the functionality or stability at all. The flimsy box was never intended to last 40 or 50 years and is in poor condition but is included. Price reflects condition.
