Circa: 1924 Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: Landers, Frary and Clark
This circa 1925 copper coffee set was made by Landers, Frary and Clark under their Universal brand name. Included are the electric trophy shape paneled percolator, cream pitcher, covered sugar (both paneled), and a 21 by 12 inch tray with painted black wood handles. All are marked Universal, the set is not a marriage. The bottom of the coffee pot has several patent dates, the last being 1924.
The set has been in storage for many, many years and has some cosmetic issues, I have not cleaned it up. The sugar lid and creamer have a darker patina than the sugar bowl and percolator, which are both brighter. The tray has an uneven patina with lighter areas at one end from where the cream or sugar protected the copper from darkening. The tray also has a few oxidation spots and the underside is quite worn. The sugar and cream have small dings to the body, and the percolator has a couple of dings at the upper left (note the 2 arrows in the last photo - they were hard to photograph due to shine and reflections). With a little cleaning and polishing, the set would display very nicely. Price reflects condition.
