Circa: 1920 Country of Origin: Japan Manufacturer: Pre War Japan Import
Three pre-1920 tiny feather tree size blown glass Christmas ornaments from Japan were made to resemble German kugels. Like the originals, they're made of colored glass rather with the mercury silvering inside and the metal caps are wired into the tops which do not have pikes. The glass isn't as heavy as a real kugel, and the caps aren't as fancy.
The cobalt blue ornament is 1-1/2 inches diameter. The clear paneled ball is even smaller, and the gold pinecone is not quite 2 inches high. All of the ornaments are transparent from age deterioration of the inner mercury silvering. The metal caps have minor oxidation, there are no chips, breaks, or scratches.
