Circa: 1937 Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: Premier Glass Works
These five double indent glass Christmas ornaments are among the very earliest American ornaments, made by Premier Glass Works in the mid to late 1930s and are not easy to find today. They are red, green, and blue, each one with a different embossed design in the center indent: layered star, concentric rings, thin rays, 5-petal flower, and 10-petal flower.
The two smaller red ornaments are 1-3/4 inches diameter by about 2" high. The others are 2-1/2 inches diameter by 3-1/4" high. All five ornaments have the original, earliest Premier tin caps marked Premier Made In U.S.A. This company made some of the most attractive American ornaments in the 1930s and 1940s with nice quality finishes that stood up very well over the years, and these are no exception. All three are in wonderful condition for being about 75 years old.
