This late 1940s to early 1950s Christmas angel tree topper decoration comes in its original box. The box isn't marked with a manufacturer's name, just the words Christmas Tree Top Angel and Fireproof.
The angel is made of a very thin, molded celluloid type hollow plastic. She's mounted on a ribbed red metallic foil disc with a silver foil wreath framed over it, the angel in the center. The silver wreath is embossed with red and silver stars. The 3-dimensional effect is very pretty.
A cutout in the back allows you to insert a light bulb to illuminate the angel if desired. The angel is perfect with no damage or splits, the foil wreath has a couple of very slight bends to the scalloped edges. Still very shiny and spotlessly clean, the topper looks like it was never used. The box itself is flimsy and has been repaired with tape at the flaps and lower window edges. The cellophane window is torn.
