A festive and beautiful hand crafted 1950s Christmas tree skirt in quilted off-white vinyl. The skirt is decorated with cut out images from Christmas cards which were overlaid with white nylon netting and stitched in place then decorated with sewn-on beads and sequins. I don't know the name of the technique, but it was a thing back then - I remember tablecloths, aprons, and other items decorated in the same paper and net appliqued style.
The tree skirt is 36 inches diameter, finished with metallic gold rick rack braid. It has no holes, tears, or stains but I suspect the original white color has turned to eggshell or off-white with age. There are a few tiny stray spots or marks to the fabric, nothing noticeable, and some of the starburst sequins scattered between the appliques have broken or missing spokes. The skirt has a slightly musty, linen-closet smell - I'll air it out some before shipping. You really need to see the lovely beadwork in person, it's very pretty.
