Circa: 1920 Country of Origin: Germany Manufacturer: Pre War German Import
A pair of 1930s or earlier clapper bell Christmas ornaments from Germany. They're 2-1/2 inches high, made of almost paper thin blown glass with slanted or twisted indented ribs around the centers. The tops are red, the bottoms were probably green or blue originally but have now faded to a brassy greenish-gold color. Hand painted white comma stroke petals or leaves decorate the twist rib centers above and below. Wired crystal bead clappers are intact inside. There is some age deterioration of the inner mercury silvering, otherwise the ornaments are in good vintage condition with no damage.
