Circa: circa 1900 Type: porcelain Country of Origin: Austria Manufacturer: "Victoria" Schmidt & Company
Stunning large porcelain serving tray with the "Victoria, Austria" mark, (a name used by "Victoria" Schmidt & Company, of Bohemia, which became part of Czechoslovakia in 1919, having previously belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It has a stunning bird pattern in the center as well as in every other smaller "frame". There is wear to the gold work framing the pictures as well as one handle. The back also has a hand written note in red. You can make out the date 1908. I will assume that is the date it was given as a gift as the extent of the writing seems to indicate that. It measures 1 ½" tall at the handles by 16 ¼" across. |
