Condition: Good+ Manufacturer: not marked
This is a good clean 13.5" long, cooper's bung auger / reamer designed for use by a cooper for the tapered hole on the side of the barrel that the spigot will fit into. This one has a 1 1/8" auger bit to start, then the tapered reamer section to follow that goes up to 2" in diameter cutting capacity. The tool is in useable condition overall with a good solid (original) hardwood handle. The top section near the handle area was originally paint red, about 10% of that paint is intact. The tapered part of the reamer has minor pitting evenly covering the surface, except around the cutting edge that is free of pitting, but has some small notches at about the 1.6" diameter point, (the cutting edge is still sharp in this area, I guess the small notches has a purpose). The lead screw and auger bit is in nice shape overall, again, some minor pitting. The reamer cutting edge is sharp, straight, with the notches mentioned already. A good clean, nice looking, useable, vintage cooper's tool overall!
