Circa: 1950 Condition: Very Good Type: Stapled Publisher: Lutheran Laymen's League of St. Louis
Published by the Lutheran Laymen's League of St. Louis, this 1950 wall calendar celebrated the 17th season of radio broadcasts of The Lutheran Hour. Begun in 1932 on one radio station in Detroit, the calendar notes that in 1950 it was carried in 25 languages on more than 1,000 stations in 50 countries. Regular speaker was Dr. Walter A. Maier, a professor at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, who ranked as 'America's foremost radio preacher.' The calendar measures 9.5- by 11-inches opened and features information about the radio program and Dr. Maier. Individual calendar pages have a beautiful color picture above the monthly calendar days. It is in Very Good condition, although there are some chips and dog-ears on the cover. Inside pages show no apparent defects. A real nice record of 1950!
