The second chaire measures 2 1/2 ins. across X 1 in. high and has a crackled, cream glaze interior, a black exterior and three cuts in the foot. The lid is signed on the interior in black. The top has a unique bamboo knot handle. The wooden box measures 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 6 1/2 and is signed and sealed on the front.

The chair was part of a set of lacquer items that accompanied a girls’s Hina dolls received on Girl’s Day. The body of the palanquin is decorated in floral scroll patterns with gold lacquer. It comes with its own storage box. It is in fine and original condition.
